EMPOWER!!!

Praise God for a wonderful first night of EMPOWER!  This is our ministy for 10 thru 14 yr olds on Monday nights.  We had a good number and a GREAT group! They were really wonderfully behaved, interested and asked some sincerely intriguing questions! We are ready to see them back this coming Monday!

THE FAIR THAT NEVER WAS...

As you can see from the picture above, the skies above Birmingham, UK, have been filled with dark clouds which have poured countless inches of rain over England.  This is a fair that has set up at the park straight across the street from Kingshurst Evangelical Church. In the frustrating setting of rides which have never even gotten to open, and workers who have stayed shut indoors in their caravans for far too long, pictured also on "Caravan Row," KEC attempted to reach out and extend the love of Jesus.  Bubba went to the caravans Sunday morning avoiding pit bulls and rotweilers and knocked on doors, inviting the sleepy workers to KEC that night. He assured them that this would be without a catch, just fellowship as we would provide a meal of soups, desserts and warm tea and coffee, as well as a new environment for them to gain a bit of rest.  Finally, they came, and without a doubt, last night, Sunday, was one of the best events we have witnessed.  As the kind and clean cut group filtered into our midst, we realized what courage it must have taken for them to cross that street.   They explained that this was the first time anyone anywhere had ever offered anything like that to them. They were fed, and many church members stayed late bonding in treasured conversations with these, our new friends.  Many seeds were planted.  God's love and His Word were shared.  The people in charge decided to allow the fair to remain in place through this upcoming weekend to try a retake of what was a total waste of time for them this past weekend.....or was it?  We at KEC know that instead of a mere coincidence, this was indeed a divine appointment. We look forward to continued fellowship with them this week.  In fact, on Thursday, Bubba and Bob are scheduled to join our new friends for tea in their caravan!  May God continue to bless these friendships and the fellowships to come.

LIVERPOOL AT THE DINGLE

We had a wonderful time of fellowship with Dingle Mount Church in Liverpool, England, at the end of August. Bubba led music and worship, Rockie played the piano, and together we sang a duet, as shown in the pic at the left. What a blessed evening it was as we made many new friends in the Lord!

About Us

To live our lives to glorify God to the fullest. Whether at work, at play, at church, or out in the world, we want to lift the name of the Lord our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are very thankful that God has called us into career missions. We are having to step out into the unknown, which is fine because nothing is unknown to God! This way, we must depend fully on God, and God alone--not on ourselves or on men.
